Since professional liability policies are written on a “claims made basis”, once you lapse or cancel your policy, the work that has been performed in the past will no longer have coverage. To solve this problem, we offer the extended reporting coverage. If any claims come in after you have retired, with the extended reporting coverage, they will be covered if they arise from your business activities while you had coverage in effect. This coverage would ensure that any late claims are still covered while the extended reporting coverage is in effect. You must contact us to arrange this coverage, and an additional fee will apply.
We welcome members of all TCM Associations. However, in order to enroll in this insurance program, the applicant must be registered with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO) in good standing with a specific title and designation.
Claims Made policies are like term life insurance. When you stop paying, the coverage stops forever. If a claim is proven to have occurred during the time of the policy period, you have no coverage. Please contact our office for more details.
